BODIES ON THE LINE is an artist residency and series of open symposia that seeks to bring together artists whose work focuses on the borders between nations and individuals.  By that we mean people who literally put their or other people's bodies on the line from soldiers and refugees, to human traffickers and those who have been used by traffickers, and those who make a living by using the body in ways that may compromise their well being. This program will take place at New York University in the fall of 2010.

Our goal is to find artists who have both artistic excellence and a calling to tackle the world's most pressing problems.  Our work is to foster an interdisciplinary and public dialogue that begins with the work of these artists.
